Coupé and Barchetta, two truly unusual and different Fiats, two cars that when they appeared in the mid-Nineties immediately aroused great interest and curiosity. What caught the eye from the outset was their respective styling, clean, simple, almost iconic, with major figures such as Chris Bangle, Andreas Zapatinas and Mario Bianchi Anderloni all making contributions. The Turin manufacturer was counting on these two models to reintroduce the marque to a market segment, that of the mid-range sports car – with the Barchetta moreover boasting open-top bodywork – in which there was no lack of competitors of a certain level. 
This book traces the stylistic and technical genesis of the two models, drawing on testimony from several of the protagonists of the time as well as invaluable photographic and documentary archive materials.
